For nearly 25 years, Upward Sports has had the goal of using sports to connect, engage, and impact communities. Upward partners with local churches, like City on a Hill Church Brighton, to equip coaches, referees, and other volunteers to train players in the sport of basketball and the important life lessons that can be learned through sports, such as teamwork, perseverance, commitment, goal setting, and much more, in accordance with our church’s faith. Upward Brighton’s coaches and volunteers will show players how these values can be incorporated in real-life game and practice time. 

During this summer, City on a Hill Church Brighton is coordinating with Upward Sports and their values to bring you Upward Brighton! Upward Brighton is a four-week basketball league from June 28-July 20 for boys and girls that have completed 3rd through 8th grade in the 2021-2022 school year. 

In Upward Brighton, players will be placed into teams that are gender-specific and age-appropriate. Players will be given the necessary training and instruction to play in the basketball league with practice days on Tuesdays and game days on Wednesdays (see the specific schedule listed below). Tuesday practices will be from 5:30pm-7:00pm and Wednesday game times will be given at the first practice.

Practice dates: June 28, July 5, July 12, and July 19 (5:30pm-7:00pm)
Game dates: June 29, July 6, July 13, and July 20 (Game times given at first practice)
Practice and Game Location: We have reserved the public basketball courts at Fidelis Way Park (19P Jette Ct, Boston, MA 02135) for practices and games

Registration fee will be $10 per player.  For each subsequent player in a family, the registration fee will $5.  Per city guidelines, masks will be optional for practices and games.
